Origin:
Sri Lanka Etymology: titteya= Synonyms: Puntius titteya, Barbus frenatus First European import: Germany, 1936, By W. Odenwald.
Care: Easy to keep fish, can be kept in pairs or in schools in the community tank. Not very particular towards waterconditions, although soft slightly acidic water is preferred. Densely planted regions, driftwood, and some floating plants will create a suitable environment for the fish. Temperature: 23-26 degrees. Feeding: Omnivorous, all food is accepted. Size: Up to 5 cm. pH: 6.0-7.5 Breeding:
Can be done in a densely planted small tank. Lower the waterlevel,
