Corydoras sodalis, Nijssen & Isbrücker, 1986

Origin: Peru, Rio Javari. Brazil: Rio Solimoes

Etymology: sodalis(L.): The companion, after it's resemblance to Corydoras reticulatus.

Synonyms:None

First import: 1971, by T Hongslo.

Description: See picture, variable species, the difference with C. reticulatus is that there is no blotch present in the dorsal fin, and with C.bolivianus this species differs in having no clear lines below the linea lateralis.

Care: Similar as other corydoras, keep them in groups of six or more. Suitable for the community tank.

Temperature:22-27 degrees.

Feeding: Omnivorous.

Size: Up to 6.5 cm.

pH: 6.0-7.5

Breeding: No information available, but has been bred in aquaria. According to Baensch and Riehl probably similar to C. reticulatus

Sexual dimorphism: Females are bigger.

Prices:Around 3-4€
