Origin: Western Amazonas Basin

Etymology: filamentosus(L.): with filaments, referring to the elongated fins.

Synonyms: Harttia filamentosa, La Monte, 1935, Harttia filamentissima, Eigenmann & Allen, 1942

Feeding: Unknown, could be an algae eater, or a microlife eater.
